Lake Biwa swimming areas in Shiga Prefecture (Otsu, Hikone, Omihachiman, Nagahama, Takashima, Moriyama, etc.). These are lake swimming areas (not seaside beaches) operated along Lake Biwa. No tattoo prohibition ordinance or prefectural guideline has been confirmed for swimming areas in Shiga. Generally tolerant as a local family destination.

About 13 min by reserved shared taxi (Ugawa Line) from Omi-Takashima Station on the JR Kosei Line; get off at "Shirahige-jinja-mae," then 10-min walk. About 45 km from Kyoto-Higashi IC on the Meishin Expressway.
