Search by purpose

Start from a kind of place, a design, or an artist. Venue listings show each tattoo policy in one list.

How tattoo policies are labelled

Tattoo Japan sorts every venue into one of four policies. Check the label before you go.

Tattoo OK
You can enter with tattoos visible. No cover stickers or other preparation needed.
Conditions apply
You can enter, but with conditions. Cover stickers, private baths only, or size limits — the terms differ by venue.
No tattoos
Entry is not permitted with tattoos. Most venues in this group refuse entry even if you cover them, so look for another place.
Not confirmed
No information yet. A post from someone who has been there moves this venue to OK, conditions apply, or no tattoos.

Venues change their rules, so a listing may not be current. When entry matters, contact the venue directly before visiting.

About Tattoo Japan

Having tattoos should not shrink the list of places you can go. We are building a map of the places that welcome you, written by the people who go there.

Written by the people who go
Listings, corrections and reviews all come from visitors. Create an account and you can contribute too.
Venue rules, unedited
We colour-code OK, conditions apply and no tattoos, and spell out the conditions. Clarity comes before everything else.
In Japanese and English
Every page is published in both languages so visitors from abroad reach the same information.

Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most from first-time visitors.

What is Tattoo Japan?

It's a community platform for searching tattoo-friendly and no-go facilities across Japan (hot springs, public baths, saunas, hotels, pools, beaches, tattoo studios, and more). It makes it easy for people with tattoos to find places they can use with peace of mind. For more, see About Tattoo Japan.

What do 'Tattoo OK', 'Limited', and 'Tattoo NG' mean?

'Tattoo OK' means visible tattoos are allowed. 'Limited' means conditions apply, such as covering your tattoos. 'Tattoo NG' means entry is not permitted if you have tattoos.

How can I search for facilities?

Filter by area, category, and tattoo policy (OK / Limited / NG). Each facility shows its own rules, so you can check before you visit.

Is there a fee to use it?

No, using the site is completely free. We plan to offer paid options for facility owners (such as promotional listings) in the future, but the core features stay free for users.

Can I register or update facility information myself?

Yes. After signing up with a Google account or email verification, you can register and update facilities. Community contributions help keep the information fresh.
